Artist Bio

Kathryn Sclavi is a multidisciplinary artist and educator facilitating projects which intend to form, support, and nurture community engagement. Her community murals, collaborative quilts, and participatory exchange-based events are featured in Philadelphia and in New Orleans. She is an award-winning teaching artist, community artist, and a featured curriculum writer for a number of organizations, including the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, Fleisher Art Memorial, and Young Audiences of New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania and Louisiana. Sclavi is also part of a Philadelphia-based art collective called Homeskooled Gallery, a nomadic art space creating participatory experiences through interactive art. She is a graduate of the masters of Art Education program with a certificate in Community Arts from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.
