Celebrating the traditions of Latin and Brazilian percussion with this display of syncopated sounds and powerful rhythms. On this trip through the origins, history, and classic rhythms of samba, salsa, and more, the audience engages in collaborative ensemble exercises to explore how these community-based traditions are played together. Students connect to the music and culture of the Caribbean and South America and gain a better understanding and appreciation for the depth and variety of the Latin and Brazilian percussion traditions that keep us dancing.
