If you doubt that a program about opera could be one of our funniest and most popular offerings, you haven’t seen “Opera Works.” We guarantee that your students will never think opera is “stuffy” (nor will any misguided adults in the audience) once OperaWorks presents its light-hearted mix of great singing, slapstick, and audience participation. With excerpts from “The Barber of Seville,” “Porgy and Bess,” “La Traviata,” and “Don Giovanni”—not to mention some conducting and musical help from the audience—the assembly offers a wonderful opportunity for students to develop a lasting appreciation of opera.
