Poetry Pros- Gayle Danley for Soul Sessions
Art Form(s):Artist Statement
I love how slam poetry is tearing down the walls between ordinary people and words. Gone are the days where only the elite get to call themselves "poets." Now your grandmother can glance in the mirror and say I'm a poet; the school janitor can say look at this poem I wrote; the preschooler is able to get in on the action proclaiming poetry belongs to me, too. In turn, each of us gets to be audience, witness, choir.
How pleased I am to be a part of this human movement toward words, expression, and passion.
