Musical Math for PreK and Kindergarten
Description
A 90‑minute, music‑centered professional development for preschool and kindergarten teachers that shows how songs, rhythm, and movement can deepen early math learning, especially counting, quantity, and spatial awareness. Teachers actively participate in mindfulness based counting, math rich movement games, and familiar children’s songs, then unpack the hidden math in each activity. The session highlights how everyday classroom routines and music time already support number sense and patterns, and offers simple strategies and take‑home song ideas to intentionally build sequential counting, one‑to‑one correspondence, numeral quantity connections, and positional language. Participants leave with concrete practices, classroom resources, and ways to document impact for families, administrators, and funders.
