Pressing Pause: Observational Drawing

Artist: Molly Gaston Johnson

Type: Workshops / Residencies

Program Availability: In-Person

Description

Develop drawing as an expressive, mental health, and community-building practice, unplugged from electronic input. Students will engage with the real world around them as they seek out important places and things, record them in sketch form, and share their work. Students literally draw out the beauty that they see in their communities and see through the eyes of others to understand commonalities of values across cultures while they connect more deeply to what they value.

Although this can be a one day experience, 3-6 day residency is optimal to elevate the creative process.
