“YA’s Arts Programming had a meaningful impact on our school community by providing all 2nd grade students, including those in our MD program, with a safe and supportive space to explore movement, creativity, and self-expression. Through the dance grant, students were able to build confidence and develop a stronger sense of self and identity. The program also fostered a positive, collaborative environment where teachers could engage alongside students, strengthening relationships and bringing a sense of joy and shared learning into the classroom.”

“There is a student in my class that requires many prompts and support during the day to keep them on task. Laura Marchese was with us for 16 weeks. After two weeks of working with Laura this student came out of her shell and was completely engaged in the activities. It was beautiful to witness. And this impact is reaching beyond the residency! Since then this student fearlessly dances to the music during morning announcements. They also show much more confidence throughout the day. Which is also beautiful to see.”
