Artist Bio
STEAM URBAN is a S.T.E.A.M.-disciplined program that was founded to change the way education looks and feels for Black and Brown students of all ages by tackling three main topic areas: Environmental Justice, Social Justice, and Educational Equity. Our comprehensive S.T.E.A.M. curriculum is taught using innovative and interactive educational experiences while using trauma-conscious healing modalities and addressing the realities of those located in under-resourced communities.
S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) is an educational framework that integrates art and design into learning, increases the happiness and well-being of students, adds to students problem-solving skills, creativity and innovation, and is customizable for ALL students! Social/Emotional healing modalities are important because they use the arts as a basis for discovery and change. Combined, STEAM URBAN uses a STEAM-disciplined, trauma-conscious approach for teaching and learning to address three broad topic areas: Environmental Justice, Social Justice, & Educational Equity.
