Lessons in Tolerance
Description
Lessons in Tolerance is an examination of the causes and social costs of the Holocaust, and other examples of genocide and persecution, followed by the development of positive artistic and intellectual responses to these events. As part of the Lessons in Tolerance program, students make a commitment to practicing the ideals of tolerance while the artist is present; and modifying future behaviors. They will also explore, through their own artistic expression, one or more, (depending on the length of the day),art forms that have been used as non-violent responses to oppression: code songs, arpilleras, poetry, and torn paper collage.
