Paint Your Feelings with Music and Poetry
Description
Students will build their personal artistry by creating original artwork inspired by a piece of music or a poem. Artist April Zay will lead the class through connection to their source material, collaborative brainstorming and an exploration of a variety of art materials. Students will gain critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they translate the abstract song or poem into a concrete image. They will also build their visual vocabulary of color, shape and line, using these elements to express their emotions. These skills will help young learners grow into innovative, resourceful humans finding success in the age of AI.
