This hands-on workshop equips K–12 teachers to incorporate wood scrap sculpture into their classrooms, fostering student engagement, problem-solving, imagination, and thoughtful reflection on their work. Participants will explore creative ways to use repurposed wood as a versatile material to support subjects including Literacy, Math, Science, Art, and Social Studies. Through guided, hands-on activities, teachers will see how wood scrap projects develop critical thinking, creativity, and connections across content areas. The workshop emphasizes open-ended questioning to promote higher-level thinking and highlights the links between visual art, close observation, and core academic content. Educators will leave with practical strategies to integrate creative, student-centered experiences across grade levels and subjects.
