The State Council on the Arts is awarding almost $1.5 million in grants to art organizations and projects in Mercer County, part of $15.6 million in grants it is giving statewide, according to a press release today. The Council is a division of the Department of State and receives funding through the Hotel/Motel Occupancy fee and grants from the National Endowment of the Arts.
It announced the grants at its 47th annual meeting at the Lafayette Yard Hotel and Conference Center in Trenton. In Mercer County, the Arts Council awarded the McCarter Theater Center, $626,820; Young Audiences of New Jersey, $241,276; American Boychoir School, $147,120; Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission, $92,577; Arts Council of Princeton, $50,774; Princeton Symphony Orchestra, $45,592; Grounds for Sculpture, $42,964, and to the International Sculpture Center, it gave $34,248.
