New Professional Development Workshops Announced

Young Audiences Arts for Learning (YA) is excited to announce new professional development workshops for the 2026-2027 school year.
Rhythm Play with Alex Shaw
Participants engage with both Western and global rhythmic frameworks through playful exploration, investigating polyrhythm, odd meters, syncopation, and metric modulation while developing strategies for embodied rhythm games, improvisation, and collaborative composition.
Musical Math for PreK and Kindergarten with Bobby Beetcut
A music‑centered professional development for preschool and kindergarten teachers that shows how songs, rhythm, and movement can deepen early math learning, especially counting, quantity, and spatial awareness.
Bollywood: Dances of India with DanceXStudio
With choreographer Jayshree Srikanth, teachers will learn about Indian culture, geography, and history as they learn movement phrases that celebrate Bollywood Dance.
Experimentation and Process: Social Development through Creativity with Kate Marie Sclavi
In this workshop, teachers and related services professionals will learn up to three process-based art-making techniques that foster social skills, encourage social-emotional learning, and encourage life skills.
